Matrine is a kind of alkaloid from Sophora japonica (kushen,Sophora flavescens Ait.; Common Name:Lightyellow Sophora Root,);and the main plant origin is Sophora japonica(kushen),also available from other plant origin such as Sophora subprostrata (shandougen), top parts of Sophora alopecuroides,and Radix Sophorae Subprostrata root(GuangDouGen).Matrine first isolated and identified out since 1958, and this is a unique etracyclo-quinolizindine alkaloid.
Main Function:
It can be used in tablet form or injection fluid, etc.. It is an effective monomer extracted from the dry roots of sophora japonica, many of its pharmacological functions are applied quite extensively in the medicinal field. In clinical practice, it can be used for treating trichomonad vaginitis, flagellate disease, amoeba dysentery and fungus dysentery, grass measles, acute eczema and private parts eczema, etc.. In antitumor aspect, especially, it can rise leucocyte quantity with no hurt to normal cells so as to enhance the body's immune function, in this point, most other anticancer drugs can not compare with it.
