| Voice encryptor handset is a high-tech product that utilizes high performance voice compression technology, digital data transmission technology and modern cryptorgraphy. It can provide the users with high encryption strength, excellent voice quality and straightforward and convenient operation. Voice encryptor handset can be used to connect with any type of VHF/UHF transceivers. 1. Structure and Connection 1) Structure The Voice encryptor handset looks like as the following figure in shape. (1)Connection wire to VHF transceiver (2) Battery charging socket/Earset socket/RS232C port (3) Indication LED (4) PTT button (5) Option connector (2)Connection to the VHF transceiver As Voice encryptor handset is made into the microphone, connection to the transceiver is just like as universal VHF/UHF transceiver microphone. All you have to do is to connect Voice encryptor handset to the appropriate option connector and then to plug in the speaker/microphone jack of the transceiver. 3) Connecting with the earset You can also use the supplied earset connecting to Voice encryptor handset . 2. Power on/off Power supplying of Voice encryptor handset depends on the status of the connected transceiver. (1)Power on - Power off the ready transceiver for using - Connect Voice encryptor handset with the transceiver using the appropriated option connector. - Power on the transceiver Then, Voice encryptor handset is powered on automatically and the indication LED lights on green color. [Note] When the last signal is transmitted or received, MMT-2B automatically enters Standby mode(*) in about one minute 30 seconds. (*)Standby mode is condition of mini-power consumption (no operating) 2) Power off - Plug out Voice encryptor handset from the transceiver. Then, Voice encryptor handset is powered off automatically and the indication LED also is off. [Note] When It is connected with the transceiver, it’ll be also powered off automatically if the transceiver is powered off. 3. Secure voice communication 1) Secure voice Transmitting - Press the PIT button. The indication LED changes to red color. - Speak to transmit - When speaking is finished, release the PTT button The indication LED changes to green color 2) Secure voice Receiving - When active signal is detected, Voice encryptor handset receive and make the decrypted voice automatically. [Note] For the optimal reception a¾äust the volume of the transceiver in the range of 114 - 3/4 of maximum. [Note] While receiving, if the signal is too weak or severely distorted, the indication LED will blink on red and green alternately and it means to alarm the bad condition of the channel. Then the user must select the place of good condition for reception and try again. 4. Adjust the volume When Voice encryptor handset enters the receive mode the volume is in the middle state. While receiving, the user can adjust the volume by pushing the PIT button momentarily(less than I second) in 3 steps. Middle->highest->lowest If the user press the PPT button more than 1 second, Voice encryptor handset enters transmit mode. 5. Battery Maintenance 1) Battery Indication When the battery is discharged too much, the indication LED will blink on red color to alarm to the user. Then the user must stop the operation and recharge the inside battery of Voice encryptor handset. 2) Battery charging User must charge by the battery charger supplied with Voice encryptor handset When charging is finished, LED of the battery charger is changed to green.
