Styrenated-terpene Resin is a light color, low odor, and heat stable modified terpene resin, made from turpentine and styrene, with polymerized by mandrax-Clinton (Friedel-Crafts) and then proceeded via hydrolysis, washing, filtering and distillation. This light colored, low odor resin is the right choice for premium hot melt adhesive applications. The aliphatic-aromatic nature of these resins gives them excellent adhesion to a range of substrates including polyolefins. Styrenated terpenes are highly compatible in EVA (Ethylene co-terpolymers: EVA, EMA) and SBC (Styrene block copolymers: SIS, SBS, SEBS) systems and easily solved in all kinds of elastomeric polymer like styrene-butadiene block copolymer, natural rubber and SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber). Usage for assembly and packaging, non-woven, bookbinding and pressure sensitive adhesives for tape, label and decal applications. Provides a very good balance of properties when compounded with styrenic block copolymers or ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers. As a kind of pale and white tackifier, also widely used in top grade adhesive, coatings, print inks and rubber, children & woven health daily-uses, etc. |
